Description
Guided Tours
Our knowledgeable guides reveal how Frank Lloyd Wright’s organic architecture is expressed in dramatic open spaces, circular forms and breathtaking lake views. Duration of the tour is 60-90 minutes. Admission is $3 per adult, $2 per student. Bus parking available onsite for duration of tour for $5. Monona Terrace is fully accessible. Parties of 10 or more are asked to make reservations by calling 608.241.4015.
Free Community Concerts and Programs

Gift Shop
Monona Terrace Gift Shop features distinctive home decor, unique clothing and executive gifts, inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s designs.
Lake Monona Bike & Pedestrian Path
A bike path and walkway wraps around the building and along the lakeshore. There is an elevator on the east side of Monona Terrace that can accommodate up to three bicycles and riders at a time.
GrandView Café and Lake Vista Café
Our tour groups can make arrangements for a break at our indoor or outdoor cafe-both with beautiful views!
William T. Evjue Rooftop Garden
With a panoramic view that encompasses Lake Monona, the State Capitol and the near east and west sides of Madison, the Rooftop Garden is the crown jewel of Monona Terrace. In addition to exquisite trees, plants and foliage, the garden features a seasonal concession café.
"The Wright Picture" Exhibition
“The Wright Picture” is a unique exhibition of photographs taken during the last 20 years of Frank Lloyd Wright´s life by acclaimed architectural photographer, Pedro E. Guerrero. The exhibit features 62 of Guerrero´s classic black-and-white images, including Wright portraits, Taliesin in Spring Green, Wisconsin, Taliesin in Scottsdale, Arizona and private homes and public buildings.
The Otis Redding Memorial
A memorial to celebrated soul singer Otis Redding is located in the William T. Evjue Rooftop Garden. On December 10, 1967, Otis Redding died in a plane crash in Lake Monona, not far from where Monona Terrace stands today.
Sustainability
Monona Terrace is the first convention center to receive silver level certification under the U.S. Green Building Council´s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Existing Buildings (LEED - EB) rating system. The center is an involved supporter of sustainable efforts and environmentally-responsible operations.
