MAJESTIC
Begin your adventure aboard the world’s largest rotating Tram cars. Traveling up over two and one-half miles in just 10 minutes the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway takes you to the pristine wilderness of the Mt. San Jacinto State Park. Tram cars revolve slowly from within, offering spectacular and picturesque vistas of the valley floor and surrounding area.
MONUMENTAL
At the Valley Station viewpoints and a gift shop can be explored, but the adventure starts as you board the Tram cars at the Valley Station at an elevation of 2,643 feet and begin your journey through five unique life zones to the Mountain Station at an elevation of 8,516 feet. It’s like taking a trip from Mexico to Alaska in just minutes!
MAGNIFICENT
Continue your adventure at the Mountain Station which features viewpoints, Peaks Restaurant, Pines Café, Lookout Lounge, gift shop, a natural history museum and a theater showing two documentary style films on the history of the Tramway and the State Park. Enjoy the 14,000-acre Mt. San Jacinto State Park and Wilderness Area with its 54 miles of hiking trails, picnic areas, primitive campgrounds, Ranger Station and Adventure Center. The Adventure Center is open mid-November through mid-April, snow conditions permitting, for snowshoe and cross-country ski rentals.
HOURS OF OPERATION
Tram cars depart at least every half hour. The first Tram car up Monday thru Friday is 10 am; first car up Saturday, Sunday and holidays is 8 am; last car up is 8 pm and last car down is 9:45 pm. Restaurants are open daily for lunch and dinner. For reservations please call 760-325-4537.
