Tour Dates:
Number of Days: 6
DAY 1: Midland
Arrive in Midland to a Red Carpet Welcome Reception followed by a
nature walk and lesson at Sibley Nature Center. Enjoy nature trails and
examine wildlife habitats at this center for environmental education. Then
tour the Bush Childhood Home where we will explore the lives and
home of two presidents, two governors, and two first ladies. Wind
down with a barbecue dinner and line dancing lessons at the Hog Pit
Pub & Grub (where the ribs literally fall off the bone). [D]
DAY 2: Midland - Fort Davis
Enjoy breakfast at our hotel, then tour the Museum of the Southwest to
view exhibits of art and archeology. Then on to the Haley Library for a
lesson in Texas history. Afterward, tour the Petroleum Museum and
experience the one-of-a-kind museum with interactive exhibits. We will
have a catered lunch, then explore the world’s largest collection of
antique drilling equipment. We will then tour the American Airpower
Heritage Museum, including the world’s largest collection of aviation
nose art from planes flown in World War II. Depart for Prude Ranch in
Fort Davis, making a pit stop at the West of the Pecos Museum. Upon
arrival at Prude Ranch, take a hay ride to a steak dinner under the stars.

DAY 3: Fort Davis - Marfa - Alpine
Breakfast at Prude Ranch with optional horseback riding or a hike at Fort
Davis National Historic Site. Participate in a solar viewing at the
McDonald Observatory, one of the world’s leading centers for astronomical
research. We then leave for Marfa to enjoy free time to tour the
many art galleries, followed by dinner at Jett’s Grill in the Paisano Hotel,
where Elizabeth Taylor and James Dean stayed during the filming of
“Giant.” After dinner, we will head to Alpine, stopping by the Marfa
Lights Viewing Area to try to catch a glimpse of the Marfa Mystery Lights.
Top the night off with a beverage from the Historic Holland Hotel’s
micro-brewery. [B,L,D]
DAY 4: Alpine - Big Bend National Park
Breakfast at the hotel, then depart for Big Bend National Park. Start off
this magnificent tour with breath-taking views in Santa Elena Canyon. We
will have lunch at the Park Headquarters, then tour the Rio Grande
Village. Return to the Chisos Basin for an evening Ranger Program. We will
spend the night in Big Bend National Park. [B,L]
DAY 5: Lajitas - Cibolo Creek Ranch
Breakfast in Big Bend, then depart for Lajitas, where we will tour the
Barton Warnock Environmental Education Center, enjoy some free
time and have lunch. Mid-afternoon, we will take a drive through Big
Bend Ranch State Park with breath-taking views and arrive at Cibolo
Creek Ranch. Take in the beautiful surroundings while enjoying a firstclass
dinner and “cowboy singing” fireside and lectures on the flora
and fauna of the region. [B,D]
DAY 6: Midland - Return Home
Finish this Texas adventure with one last gourmet breakfast served poolside, then return to Midland to end this memorable trip. [B]
