Day 1

The museum houses the Three Illinois Governors Gallery. Kankakee was home to governors Lennington Small, Samuel Shapiro and George Ryan. Kankakee County boasts beautiful architectural structures such as Asbury United Methodist Church. Built in 1866, this beautiful church is rich and ornate with natural wood and stained glass elements. Begin shopping at The Frank Lloyd Wright’s gift shop located in the beautiful Historic Riverview community. At the “The Stable Shop” you find Christmas ornaments, jewelry, glassware, and a variety of accessories all influenced by Mr. Wright. Hear the history of the first of the 1900 prairie style structure designed and built by Frank Lloyd Wright (The Bradley House). Affordable and collectible antiques await the enthusiast who seeks the smallest gem to add to their collection. Castle Antiques, Indian Oaks and Manteno Antique Malls each hosts over 100 antique dealers.
