DAY 1

P.M. Stroll through 5,000 years of art history at the Chrysler Museum of Art, home to Walter Chrysler Jr.'s world-class collection of more than 30,000 pieces of art. The museum features a world-renowned Tiffany-glass collection, Art Nouveau furniture, and works of art from African, Egyptian, Pre-Columbian, Islamic and Asian cultures. The museum also offers an extensive European and American collection of paintings, sculpture and decorative arts (customize a guided tour to fit your group’s theme).

Evening

Enjoy dinner at the Freemason Abbey Restaurant and Tavern, a restaurant located in a 135 year-old renovated church in the Freemason Harbor area of Norfolk. The menu offers a wide variety of foods, featuring fresh lobster, pasta, fish, seafood and choice prime rib.

DAY 2

A.M. Relax along a tree-lined riverbank at the Hermitage Foundation Museum. This early 20th century historic home appears frozen in time, offering visitors an extraordinary trip through antiquity. The museum and gardens consist of a world-wide art collection and contemporary exhibition galleries, all surrounded by twelve acres of formal gardens and natural woodlands.
A.M. Enjoy a guided tour through Rowena’s Cake Factory. Visit a delightful world of jams, jellies and cakes. Everything is made in small qualities to keep that “homemade” flavor for which Rowena’s is famous. Stay for lunch and enjoy a true high tea and after lunch take a tour of the factory where they make their delicious desserts, cakes, jams and jellies.
P.M. Surround yourself with beauty at the Norfolk Botanical Garden, where bridges, coastal waterways and 12 miles of pedestrian trails intertwine 155 acres and step on their tram or boat rides. The garden also offers true nature lovers hands on experiences and demonstrations.


Dinner

Delight in dinner at the Painted Lady, a life-size doll house with the ambiance of New Orleans. A magnificently colorful turn of the century Victorian home, the Painted Lady offers an eclectic gift boutique, refined tea room and upscale restaurant.

P.M. Enjoy an evening performance with the Virginia Arts Festival (April-May), the Broadway Series (Oct-May) or the Virginia Stage Company (Sept-Nov).


DAY 3
A.M. Shop till you drop at MacArthur Center with over 70 retailers anchored by Nordstrom and Dillard’s. (Coupons are available to groups).
P.M. Experience the elegance and romance of the Victorian Era inside the Hunter House Victorian Museum. Rich in architectural detail, the Hunter family's collection of Victorian furnishings and decorative pieces are displayed throughout the house.
