The Art & Soul of Cooking Tour
Start your weekend with dinner and beer tasting at Rock Bottom Brewery. After breakfast the next morning you'll create truffles, mousse and flourless chocolate cake in a hands-on Chocolate Lover's Cooking Class taught by renowned Chef Brent Lomprez at Hilton Chicago Indian Lakes Resort. Spend a delightful afternoon at the award-winning Lynfred Winery's Wine Tasting Tour, with freshly-baked breads to cleanse the palate. Over a delicious dinner at the Sedona Grille, Chef Klaus Lotter will teach the fundamentals of wine-and-food pairing.
On the third day, shop at one of DuPage County's magnificent shopping centers to stock your own kitchen. Cook your own lunch at the Weber Grill Restaurant Cooking Class. Learn grilling tips from the pros, and take home a pack of Weber BBQ spice rub compliments of the chef! Still hungry? Dinner is held at one of several authentic ethnic restaurants: Italian (Maggiano's Little Italy or Antico Posto), Mexican (Adobo Grill or Uncle Julio's Hacienda), or Japanese (RA Sushi).
Scientific Splendors & Wonders Tour
Take a guided tour through the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, home of the world's largest atom particle accelerator, and a herd of American bison. Marvel at the giant and rare dinosaurs never before seen in the U.S. at the SciTech Hands-On Museum. Step back in time at Naper Settlement-Historic Museum Village where you can become a part of line in the 19th century.
The next day, tour the Argonne National Laboratory, site of the Advanced Photon Source X-ray project, and one of the country's premier facilities for energy-related research and development. Then admire the dazzling gemstones and priceless jade carvings at the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art, or head over to The Morton Arboretum for lunch at the Gingko Room. On the third day, get up early to visit the Brookfield Zoo/Chicago Zoological Society and have lunch surrounded by peacocks and the roar of lions! On the last day, take an expedition into Chicago to tour the Museum of Science and Industry, Shedd Aquarium or the Adler Planetarium.
Glorious Gardens & Architecture Tour
Visit the breathtaking Cantigny Gardens and Historic Mansion. Then head over to The Morton Arboretum, a woody plant museum covering 1,700 acres, and enjoy lunch at the delightful Gingko Restaurant. Later, attend a show at Paramount Arts Center, McAninch Arts Center or Hemmens Cultural Center for an evening of fine entertainment. Over the next two days you'll also visit the Elmhurst Art Museum, tour Mayslake Peabody Estate or Graue Mill and Museum, the world-renowned lilacs and tulips of Lilacia Park, West Chicago City Museum, and other treasures of nature and Man's creative genius.
