Day One

Experience the magic of the season in a city steeped in traditions of the past, but with the food, music and good times of today. That’s Christmas New Orleans Style!! You arrive in New Orleans on a beautiful December afternoon, where you check in to your selected hotel. Take time to settle in and relax for a while, for your visit to New Orleans will be a festive and fun-filled one.

For dinner, have an “early bird” meal at one of our many famous casual dining French Quarter restaurants. Afterwards, board your motorcoach for a trip to “Celebration in the Oaks”, New Orleans City Park’s annual lighting display of magic holiday lights and music displays to delight every age. This holiday walking tour will take you through the newly replanted Botanical Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the Storyland fairytale playground.

Day Two

After breakfast, your step on guide will join you for a City Sightseeing Tour of New Orleans, or maybe a Garden District Tour with a stop at the historic Van Benthuysen-Elms Mansion, the only Garden District home open to the public for tours.

Following your tour, why not stop at the Court of Two Sisters and enjoy their extensive brunch buffet, accompanied by live traditional jazz music. Or, you may prefer to experience a cooking demonstration with lunch at one of our many
Cooking Schools. Learn how to cook Cajun and Creole favorites and impress your family and friends once you return home by whipping up a traditional New Orleans meal! The afternoon is free for shopping at the Riverwalk Marketplace, or the Shops at Canal Place. Or you may want to go out on your own to explore the French Quarter’s many hidden treasures.

Tonight’s dinner can be aboard an authentic paddlewheeler on the Mississippi River. Enjoy a delicious Creole buffet while listening to lively jazz music. Or, you can experience a lavish Christmas Revillon Dinner at one of the many fine dining establishments in the French Quarter that offer this traditional Creole meal.

Day Three

There’s no better way to start the day than with a time-honored New Orleans breakfast of beignets (a square doughnut without the hole, fried to crusty perfection and generously sprinkled with powdered sugar) and creamy café au lait (equal amounts of hot coffee & chicory and hot milk) at Café du Monde, a New Orleans tradition since 1862.

After breakfast, you may want to take in one of the many museums located in the French Quarter, such as the Historic New Orleans Collection, the New Orleans
Pharmacy Museum, or the Louisiana State Museums (Presbytere, Cabildo, 1850 House). Or you may prefer to tour an historic home, such as the Hermann-Grima/Gallier Historic Houses, also located in the French Quarter.

Another alternative would be to visit the National World War II Museum, the only
museum of its kind in the United States. This museum presents World War II through personal stories and dramatic events. Or, visit one of our newest addition – The Ogden Museum of Southern Art – home to the largest and most comprehensive collection of Southern art in the world.

Depart New Orleans for the remainder of your tour, with many fond memories of your one of a kind experience……Christmas New Orleans Style.
