DAY 1: Hilton Head Island

Honey Horn Plantation – Start your day with a tour of the Honey Horn
Plantation and visit the Coastal Discovery Museum, where you can learn
about the planters, the northern hunters and the Islanders who worked
on site. Lunch at the Crazy Crab – The Crazy Crab has been a favorite
on the island since 1984. With their breathtaking views and fare from
local fresh seafood to prime rib, every visitor is sure to enjoy. Open Air
History Tour – Learn about the history of Hilton Head Island while taking
a tour in an open-air trolley. You will learn how the Island played a
vital role in the Civil War and is home to Fort Mitchell. Dinner with a
Demo – Get ready to learn about and taste famous local foods such as
Frogmore Stew and Deviled Crabs from a local chef who will demonstrate
how these dishes are prepared.


DAY 2: Hilton Head Island

Harbour Town – Stroll around Harbour Town’s Yacht Basin and visit
some of the elegant shops, boutiques, and art galleries. You will also
have the opportunity to view the Island from the infamous Harbour
Town Lighthouse. Lunch at the Quarterdeck – You’ll find that there
aren’t many views on the Island like those from the Quarterdeck, overlooking
the 18th green at the Harbour Town Golf Links, Daufuskie Island
and the Calibouge Sound. An Afternoon for the Arts – Hilton Head
Island has been noticed as one of the “100 Best Small Arts Towns in
America.” The Arts Center of Coastal Carolina on Hilton Head Island
offers a variety of galleries, stages, and venues that host monthly traveling
exhibitions. You’ll also have the opportunity to catch a musical performance.
Dinner at Hudson’s on the Docks – Home base for many
of the Island’s working shrimp boats, Hudson’s brings fresh, local
seafood from their docks to your table.


DAY 3: Bluffton

Walk Old Town Bluffton – Your first stop will be the Heyward House, a
home built by slaves in the 1800s. Then you’ll have the chance to visit
historic homes, churches, and businesses that have survived devastating
fires, Union occupation and hurricanes. Be sure to visit Jacob Preston’s
studio – Bluffton’s tallest potter! Lunch at Myrtle’s – This restaurant offers
Southern-style dining with a kick, serving local seafood and steaks.
Serious Shopping – Finish the day off with serious shopping at the
Tanger Outlet. Dinner at Truffles Café – Truffles offers fresh, local
seafood, Black Angus steaks, baby back ribs, homemade soups, crisp
salads, incredible sandwiches and outrageous desserts.


DAY 4: Hardeeville

National Wildlife Refuge – Just outside of Hardeeville is the Savannah
National Wildlife Refuge. Guides from Wilderness Southeast will give
you a tour of three miles of sun-drenched dikes where you may spot
wildlife such as the Great Blue Heron, Purple Gallinules, and the
American Alligator. Cripple Crab Lunch Stop – Stop by this
“Hardeeville Seafood Stop” with its casual and pleasant atmosphere
and enjoy a seafood lunch buffet like no other. Frampton Plantation
Tour – General Sherman's troops burned the plantation house and all
the farm buildings that stood on this site late in the Civil War. In 1868,
John Frampton rebuilt the present charming Lowcountry farmhouse.
Dinner at Jasper’s Porch – Overlooking Blue Heron Lake, Jasper’s
Porch was featured in both South Carolina Smiles and Sandlapper
publications as a “must” stop for travelers.
