Berkshires
Group Trip Ideas
Are
you planning a group trip to the Berkshires? If so, you’re in good
company. Tourists flock to the area in the fall of each year to admire
the fall foliage, and in the winter months to ski on the snowy
Berkshire Mountains. Summer is culture time in the Berkshires, with
many festivals, live music, and theater and dance
productions. The Berkshires is pretty much a year round
destination, and your group can find activities any season of the year.
Berkshires
Group Attractions
You
can’t see the main attractions of the Berkshires in just one day!
Ideally, plan to stay at least a week. Don’t miss the Norman Rockwell
Museum in Stockbridge, The Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield, the
Chesterwood Museum in Stockbridge, and the Sterling and Francine Art
Institute in Williamstown. The Jiminy Peak Ski area in Hancock is a
great place for skiing, snowboarding, and shopping. In the summer
months, Tanglewood is where to go to hear the Boston Symphony perform.
Zone Outdoor in Charlemont is a real adventure resort where your group
can enjoy rock climbing, canoeing, biking, and other outdoor
sports. Berkshires group attractions, sightseeing tours,

Group
Dining
The
Old Country Buffet in Pittsfield is a wonderful place to eat that’s
almost like going back home to Sunday dinner. Delicious, traditional
and new styles of American cuisine are served here with care and
attention. Groups are very welcome here with advance reservations.
Also, the Ninety-Nine Restaurant and Pub in Pittsfield is another super
place for groups. It’s casual and friendly, with American style food in
huge portions at prices that are more than reasonable. Call ahead to
make sure seating is available.
Berkshires
Group Lodging
*Summer,
Winter and Fall are the most expensive times to book a hotel room in
the Berkshires! Most of the time, there will be higher group rates
during these months. There is a slight lull during November and early
December when the prices drop a little, but they go back up when ski
season begins.
Vacation Village at Berkshires seems to be almost tailor made for
groups! Located in Hancock, this hotel features a swimming pool, a
bar/lounge, cable TV, but only dial up Internet access. This is about
the only flaw here. Rooms are standard size with the usual amenities,
and the hotel staff is courteous and eager to make your stay memorable.
