Group Trip Ideas
A city tour to Atlanta
might be more enjoyed by your group if it were planned for late winter
or early spring, for it comes by its nickname of “Hotlanta” quite
naturally. Summers are very warm and humid, but the locals are used to
this weather, and go on as usual. It could be said that
Atlanta is “hot” is more ways than one. The city has grown into a very
modern urban center which is becoming more popular every day, and its
young residents refer to it as “smokin’” because of its propensity for
change. Still, the area’s rich history is still evident, and groups who
come here are well pleased with the rich combination of cosmopolitan
city and Scarlett O’Hara’s Atlanta which is portrayed in the many
attractions and venues here.

Group Attractions
No trip to Atlanta
would be complete without a visit to the New World of Coca-Cola. The
city and the soft drink seem to be synonymous, and the self-guided tour
of the museum features examples of how Coca-Cola is made, an
advertising history, lots of memorabilia, many exhibits, and a tasting
station of Coke products from all over the world. The 90 minute guided
tour of the home of author Margaret Mitchell of Gone with the Wind
fame. Turner Field, home of the Atlanta Braves also has a Braves Museum
and Hall of Fame which is highly interesting. The Georgia Aquarium,
Atlanta Botanic Gardens, Martin Luther King’s historic national site,
and studio tours of the CNN Center are not to be missed.

Group
Dining
If your group enjoys
dry aged steak and award winning wine, you must try The Capital Grille
in Atlanta. Very group friendly, this restaurant also has fresh seafood
flown in each day, a wine list of over 400 wines, and other classic
entrees expertly prepared and served. Maggiano’s Little Italy is well
prepared for groups, and offers large portions of Italian entrees, all
made from scratch and quite reasonably prices. Reservations are
suggested for both of these fine restaurants.
